A sow's gestation is approximately 115 days.
Under transport welfare regulations, a sow must not be transported once 90% of her gestation has passed. This means she cannot legally be moved during approximately the final 11–12 days before farrowing.
To err on the side of caution, we recommend moving an in-pig sow at least three weeks before her expected farrowing date.
