Important Considerations: Risks of Agricultural Shows
While agricultural shows provide valuable opportunities for showcasing livestock, they also present potential risks to the health of participating pigs. Diseases such as Erysipelas, PRRS, PED, Swine Dysentery, and African Swine Fever (not yet in this country) can spread in high-contact environments.
OSBPG encourages breeders to carefully consider these risks and prioritize the well-being of their pigs to protect this vulnerable breed.
Contributing to a Sustainable Future
The OSBPG Foundation Charity Register plays a critical role in ensuring the longevity of the Oxford Sandy and Black pig. By participating, members help preserve the breed’s unique characteristics, ensuring its viability for future generations.
